Funeral services were held Friday, March 16, 1990, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer. Rev. William Ruhbusch officiated. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Withee. George Lund was born Nov. 26, 1923, in Stanley, to Edward and Fern (Hatfield) Lund. He was a graduate of Stanley High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. His first marriage was to Gladys Randall, they were later divorced. His second marriage was to Betty Fischer on April 25, 1981. He was a mechanic at Knar Ford at Stanley until 1973. He hand been a resident of Spencer for the past two years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and enjoyed oil painting. Survivors include his wife, three sons, George Jr., Santa Rosa, Calif. Gilbert, Thorp Gary, Mount Pleasant, Iowa two daughters, Mrs. Darrel (Loreen) Giese, Protection, Kan. Mrs. Paul (Gloria) Bosworth, Marquette, Mich. one step-son, Randy Fischer, Billings, Mont. one brother, David Lund, Oregon, Wis. six sisters, Grace Lund, Shoreview, Minn. Lluella Downing, Manitowoc Gladys Olson, Eagle River Lorraine Pomietlo, Stanley Susan Blanchette, Madison Joan Naas, Bloomer nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild and eight step-grandchildren.
